Made this a while back, but finally found the motivation to upload it
Did this in between commission work, which surprisingly I made this within one day, I usually don't get art done that quick XD
SERPH HASN'T HAD A FULL REF SINCE 2011 GUYS
AND I FINALLY MADE HIM A PROPER REFERENCE
I'm actually really happy with how this came out, you have no idea how many sketches I've tried to do for a reference for this guy over the years
In all honesty, Serph is probably my hardest character to draw. I have a lot of trouble getting his snarky expression into those big flopy jowls. I used to draw this guy all the time, but my style was very cartoonised back then, which meant REALISTIC PROPORTIONS DIDN'T EXIST
But he's actually quite hard to capture now in my recent style. I ESPECIALLY had trouble with his ears. Since he was very first created, his ears have always sat back (in a relaxed position; this is also a must when drawing him, his ears don't flop forward like normal RR's), and the shape of them in that position is just hard and awkward to draw in :/
Buuuuuut I finally got it
I still love this guy to death. Always have; easily my top favourite character.
Oh and in case anyone is wondering, Serphire is my mascot, NOT a fursona or a regular character. He represents my artwork as a whole and not just myself, whereas Taz is a representation of me.
I kind of felt really sad for the poor guy, for a while there Taz and all my other characters stole the spotlight for a bit XD But Serphy's back guys!
I even bought back his old red studded collar, and his nametag! If anyone remembers that XD Both tags are optional, meaning you can draw him with the name tag OR the pentagram, but he MUST be drawn with at least one.
Yes, that pentagram is the shape of the Winchester boys' tattoo, because I've been a Supernatural fan for many many years, and since Taz has something SoA related, I thought Serph could have something SPN related ;D I adore my shows guys, they are EVERYTHING TO ME
Aaaaanyway, hope you guys like his new and improves reference & design!
